Welcome Jim Ethier - Our Newest Adjunct Professor

January 2017

Kellogg's Center for Family Enterprises (KCFE) announces the appointment of Jim Ethier'66, Emeritus Chairman and CEO of Bush Brothers & Company of Knoxville, TN, as its newest Adjunct Professor of Family Enterprise. Until retiring in 2015, he led his family business, founded in 1908, currently in its 5th generation. He was the 2012 recipient of the Kellogg Family Enterprises Leadership Award. KCFE has authored a case study on business governance that features him in the decision-making role.

Jim's deep knowledge and earnest desire to share best practices with other enterprising families make him an especially important resource. KCFE Co-Director Justin Craig shared, "Jim Ethier is a true family business Sage who brings a lifetime of rich experiences to the KCFE. We are honored to welcome him to our team."

In 2017, Jim will participate in sessions with the MBA and EMBA family enterprise electives, with the executive education programs Governing Family Enterprises and Leading Family Enterprises, and with our custom program for PwC partners whose clients are family businesses.

"Jim is a compelling management philosopher. I am thrilled for every student he meets and for every family business leader with whom he shares experiences," KCFE Co-Director John Ward enthused.
